For several years now, the engineers at Cervelo’s Project California have been developing lay-ups, new production techniques and new test methods. The R5ca is what happens when you put all of that knowledge in a frame and let the engineers build it inside the research facility. NOTE:
This is really a technical showcase rather than a regular model, and our engineers also have other work to do. Therefore, they won’t build very many and production will cease fairly soon (when exactly depends a bit on their workload). The R5ca is part of the R-series, designed to make the difference on the hills and mountains. Experience: 1. Low weight to help your climbing.
2. Torsional stiffness for safety and confidence while descending.
3. BB stiffness to not waste any energy.
4. Vertical compliance and vibration damping for comfort on long rides & bad roads.
